Gunners Miss Out on Top-Four Finish Despite Emphatic Victory Over Everton

Late Havertz Goal Secures 2-1 Win, But Arsenal's Premier League Title Hopes Dashed

Arsenal's valiant effort to claim the Premier League title came to a heartbreaking end on the final day of the season, as Kai Havertz's late strike secured a 2-1 victory over Everton but left the Gunners just short of their ultimate goal. Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli had given Arsenal a commanding lead in the first half, but Everton fought back through a goal from Demarai Gray. Despite their emphatic win, Arsenal's title bid ultimately fell just short, as Manchester City's victory over Brighton & Hove Albion secured the Premier League title.

Arsenal dominated the first half and deservedly took the lead through Saka in the 40th minute. Martinelli doubled the advantage just five minutes later, giving Arsenal a comfortable cushion heading into the break. However, Everton came out with renewed vigor in the second half and pulled a goal back through Gray in the 71st minute. The goal set up a tense finish, but Arsenal's defense held firm and Havertz's late finish sealed the three points.

Despite their victory, Arsenal's title hopes were dashed as City's win over Brighton meant the Gunners would finish the season in fifth place. It was a disappointing end to a season that had promised so much, but Arsenal can take solace in their impressive performance against Everton and the progress they have made under Mikel Arteta.
